Hutt City Council getting active at lunchtime

Hutt City Council’s Democratic Services Team have jumped on the activity bandwagon by taking regular lunchtime walks as a team. So far they have walked the Korokoro Loop Track and the Te Whiti Riser and they plan to do a walk a month.

“Walking was suggested at a team meeting when we were deciding the next social event and our manager Kathryn was supportive. This is a really important aspect of encouraging activity I think – not everyone’s a walker and it’s important that a manager enthusiastically supports physical activity ideas,” said staffer Judy Randall.

Hutt City Council is committed to workplace wellbeing, Ray Wallace, Mayor of Lower Hutt led the charge by taking a 20 minute Great Break Escape lunchtime walk with Council staff at the end of summer.
